Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has clocked in this morning to his office for what is expected to be the final hours before his resignation.
Berita Harian reported Muhyiddin's arrival at 8.07am, followed by Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, who is expected to attend a special cabinet meeting to be held in the Prime Minister’s Office at around 10am.
Muhyiddin will be chairing the meeting before leaving for Istana Negara.
Separately, Berita Harian also reported that around 30 media personnel from various agencies started to gather outside Istana Negara since around 8am, well ahead of Muhyiddin's scheduled audience at 11am with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Special Functions) Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof yesterday revealed that Muhyiddin has conceded to tender his resignation after exhausting all avenues to sustain his Perikatan Nasional administration.
If his resignation is accepted, Muhyiddin will be the shortest-serving prime minister - having put 17 months in office.
This is about five months shy of Dr Mahathir Mohamad's second stint as prime minister. - Mkini
