PETALING JAYA: The Pakatan Harapan women’s wing has lodged a police report against Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, accusing him of misleading the Yang di-Pertuan Agong yesterday when he claimed he still had a parliamentary majority.
In a live broadcast, Muhyiddin said he presented the King with sufficient declarations to prove that he still enjoyed majority support, adding that he would put this to the test in September.
“The figure he presented was clearly false,” said Wanita PH deputy chief Raj Munni @ Aiman Athirah Sabu, as – by her reckoning – at least 115 MPs have declared their opposition to Muhyiddin.
“Therefore, we are of the opinion that it is very likely that (Muhyiddin) has presented a false declaration of support to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,” the senator said in a statement.
The report was made at 8pm yesterday at the Gombak district police headquarters.
After Muhyiddin’s announcement yesterday, a number of opposition MPs pressed him to reveal his list of supporters, with some suggesting the delay in calling for a Parliament vote was to attract support from defectors. - FMT
