Sabah expects the number of Covid-19 cases in the state to remain high for the next few days due to a backlog, said state Local Government and Housing Minister Masidi Manjun.
“The backlog cases are positive case results which were registered more than five days after the screening results were known,” he said in a statement.
Masidi said 289 of the new Covid-19 cases recorded today were those that were registered late, among them in the district of Kota Kinabalu (188), Penampang (58) and Putatan (40).
A total of 2,583 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the state today, taking its total infections to 113,929.
There were also 11 fatalities reported, with four in Tawau, three in Kota Kinabalu, two in Keningau and one each in Ranau and Tuaran.
