'Whether PM has support or not will only be seen in Parliament next month'

KOTA KINABALU: Lawmakers' support or lack of it for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will only matter when the motion of confidence is tabled in Parliament next month.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) vice president Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee said eventhough there were some ministers (two from Umno) who resigned from Muhyiddin's cabinet, it would only have an outcome during the vote on the motion of confidence.

"We welcome Sabah Umno's stand to continue to support the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-led government under the leadership of Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor," said Kiandee who is also Agriculture and Food Industries Minister.

Sabah Umno said it respected the command of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the Head of State and that all parties respected the principle of the rule of law.

"We hope Sabah Umno will support the leadership of Muhyiddin when the motion on the vote of confidence is tabled in Parliament next month," said Kiandee. - NST
