Cabinet will discuss tabling a motion to debate and revoke the emergency ordinances in the September Parliament sitting, said Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
He said the matter of the King revoking the ordinances does not arise after the emergency expired on Sunday.
"As such, in line with the views of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Article 150(3) of the Federal Constitution, a motion to debate and then revoke the emergency ordinances can be brought to Parliament, which is scheduled to sit in September," the prime minister said in a statement.
The current Parliament special sitting was supposed to resume on Monday, but was postponed to a yet to be determined date - ostensibly due to Covid-19 risks.
The opposition has accused the government of using the virus as a ruse to obstruct Parliament proceedings.
This is after the Agong gave a royal rebuke to the government for claiming the emergency ordinances had been revoked despite not getting royal assent.
