Political MoU steering committee holds first meeting

PETALING JAYA: Eighteen matters were discussed by the steering committee of the political cooperation pact between the Ismail Sabri Yaakob government and Pakatan Harapan, which held its first meeting today.

However, details of the discussions were not made available.

PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil merely said the steering committee discussed 18 matters contained in the memorandum of understanding between the two sides.

“These are in the process of being implemented. The next meeting will take place in two weeks,” he said.

The government side has previously spoken of their intention to pursue certain reforms including an anti-hopping law, the injection of an additional RM45 billion into the Covid-19 fund, and speeding up the implementation of Undi18 and automatic voter registration.

The political pact, undertaken for “political stability and transformation”, covered six areas. - FMT
