The government has been urged to clarify the status of the furniture town in Gua Musang, Kelantan which allegedly has not seen any development since its ground-breaking ceremony in September 2020.
The matter was raised by Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim (BN-Galas) while debating the royal address in the Kelantan state assembly in Kota Bharu today.
Syahbuddin (above) said there have been no updates on the status of the furniture town since the ground-breaking ceremony.
“Galas would like an explanation, have you received the infrastructure costs or how? For the knowledge of the menteri besar, the latest status of the furniture town is still unknown, without any news.
“The area is still the same as when the menteri besar came for the launching ceremony back then,” he said.
Syahbuddin added that immediate action must be taken as the state government had claimed that the furniture town would provide 1,500 job opportunities once it was established.
“But until now, there is not even a single speck of dust, it has made no waves,” he said.
The furniture town project in Gua Musang was officiated with a ground-breaking ceremony on Sept 10, 2020, with infrastructure costs of RM20 million which was requested through the 12th Malaysian Plan. - Mkini
