4m section of Jalan Slim River-Behrang Ulu collapses due to floods

 

Perak infrastructure, energy, water and public transport committee chairman Nizar Jamaluddin said Jalan Slim River-Behrang Ulu would be closed until further notice.

IPOH: 

A 4m section of Jalan Slim River-Behrang Ulu collapsed at 8pm tonight due to flooding caused by continuous rain which started this afternoon.

Perak infrastructure, energy, water and public transport committee chairman Nizar Jamaluddin said it only involved a single state road.

The public works department is identifying other roads to see whether they are affected,

 he said in a statement tonight, adding that the road is currently closed to vehicles.

A video showing swift currents causing the road collapse was uploaded to social media this afternoon. - FMT
