RUSSIA'S KURSK ANOTHER TRAP FOR UKRAINE

 

The West is crowing now that for the first time in 80 years (since 1944) a foreign army has invaded Russia. They are crowing about Ukraine's incursion on the 6th August into the Kursk area inside Russia. And before Hitler's Operation Barbarossa or the invasion of Russia in 1941 the only other army that had invaded Russian territory was Napoleon Bonaparte in 1812. Both adventures ended very badly for Hitler and Napoleon.

The western narrative also has to change. It is no more the threat of Russia invading the rest of Europe. Now they are cheering for Ukraine to invade Russia until Moscow !!

Today I heard something quite interesting which backs up what I read earlier. I found out today that just days BEFORE the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk, the Russians had redeployed their elite Black Sea Marine Battalion of over 4,000 men to the same area. As if they already knew that the Ukrainians will invade. The Marine Battalion is well equipped with multiple weapon types and is also highly experienced. This supports other reports that the Russians were already waiting when the Ukrainians invaded.

This may explain why Russian Chief of General Staff General Valery Gerasimov's poker face never showed any emotion when the Ukrainians invaded.

The Ukrainians first invaded with 12,000 troops. The number has been increased to 15,000 troops. In the past eleven days they have already lost 25% to 30% killed or about 4,000 to 5,000 troops killed. Thousands more have been injured. These are very heavy losses for Ukraine. Their incursion has also stalled and it appears impossible for them to capture the Kursk nuclear power plant - which was their original intention.

The Russians have slightly over 15,000 troops to handle the Ukrainians inside Kursk. The Russians have not had to redeploy any of their troops from other parts of the front lines.

The Ukrainians have also lost significant numbers of tanks, IFVs, missile systems, artillery and equipment. And just like Hitler and Napoleon found out their resupply lines now have to cut through Russian territory where they only have roads and open terrain available to them. 

Ukraine is extremely short of materials and manpower. So the 15,000 troops sent into Kursk have depleted manpower all along the remaining front lines. Ukrainian troops were already getting badly mauled all the way from Sumy, Kharkiv down south to Zaporizhia and Kherson (please see the map).

The Ukrainians have not learnt from Bakhmut, Avdiyiivka and other places where their troops were sucked in and destroyed by the Russians.

For the first few days of the Ukrainian incursion the Russians evacuated 200,000 civilians from the Kursk area. With the 200,000 people evacuated it is now much easier for the Russian Army to conduct its operations. Russia has been invaded by Nato.  

It looks like Russia will use Kursk as another trap to suck in and destroy more Ukrainian troops. The Ukrainians will likely divert troops from other places into Kursk. Kursk has become Nato's latest 'ego-cum-suicide-trip' using Ukrainian troops.
