12-year-old is now the youngest student in UM’s history

A young boy, Iz Emir, has made history as the youngest student to enrol at Universiti Malaya since its founding in 1962.

According to a Facebook post by Fatimah Kari, Iz Emir entered Form One at Permata Pintar, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, then proceeded to study O-Level at the age of eight and A-Level at the age of 11.

Many on social media have praised his intelligence, with some comparing him to Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory.

Users expressed admiration and excitement for his achievements, wishing him well on his academic journey.

A Facebook user, Firqdaus Adzmi said our country has many highly intelligent individuals, identified through various programs.

It’s crucial to monitor and guide them carefully as they grow, ensuring they remain valuable to our religion, country, and nation, rather than losing their way like in the past.

User Febian Ismail wished success for the child, with hopes the parents firmly guide them. We don’t want this potential wasted, as similar cases have seen children lose their way.

Radin Fikri said, “This is truly an asset to lead the nation’s geniuses. Must be carefully taken care of. There aren’t many geniuses who can reach this level.” – Focus Malaysia
