Restaurant owners returns remaining money of RM2,660 paid by customer for a nasi lemak

BOTAK Nasi Lemak must be exceedingly delicious for a customer to pay a sizable tip of RM2,660 for a RM26.60 nasi lemak. It was a mistake, and a big one too.

Fortunately, the owner of the restaurant has successfully returned the excess change to the customer who had overpaid.

Previously, the restaurant had gone viral on social media as they sought the customer who had mistakenly entered a four-figure amount for a bill of RM26.60 when making payment via QR code at the counter.

Consequently, the restaurant owner decided to publicise the incident on social media platforms to ensure the excess amount could be returned to the customer.

In a post on Facebook, the restaurant shared a screenshot showing the customer making the payment at the counter.

“Is this you? You have mistakenly paid RM2,660 via QR code for a bill of RM26.60.

“Please help us find this customer so we can return the excess money to them! We (Botak Nasi Lemak), not Botak Omakase (referring to a luxury Japanese restaurant),” it read.

The post attracted significant attention and reactions, with many supporting the sharing of the post to make sure it reached the customer.

In addition, many praised the restaurant for not taking advantage of the customer’s mistake but instead promptly taking action to return the excess money. – Focus Malaysia
