Fahmi believes there is room for him to make greater contributions to the party by becoming one of PKR’s four vice-presidents.
“The contest in PKR is a contest in the family. We will contest in a healthy manner, avoiding unhealthy elements.
“My team and I will offer our best ideas, because PKR is a party which looks to the future,” he told reporters on the sidelines of an event in Kuala Lumpur today.
Fahmi, who is the communications minister, is the fifth PKR leader to announce their candidacy for the vice-presidency.
This is his second time contesting for the post, after his first attempt in the 2022 party polls which failed.

The four vice-presidents elected in 2022 are Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari, Negeri Sembilan menteri besar Aminuddin Harun and federal ministers Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad and Chang Lih Kang.
