Another minor quake reported in Segamat

The weak 2.5-magnitude quake is the fourth incident so far this week.

 Another minor earthquake has been reported in Segamat, Johor, in what is the fourth incident so far this week.

The meteorological department said a 2.5-magnitude quake occurred around 7.56pm about 13km north of Segamat at a depth of 10km.

“Tremors were felt in Johor. The department is continuing to monitor the situation,” it said in a post on X.

Two earthquakes were reported in Segamat and Kluang on Sunday. The first earthquake, measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale, struck Segamat at 6.13am. A 2.8-magnitude earthquake was later detected in Kluang at around 9am.

Tremors were felt in several parts of Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Pahang, with some property owners reporting damage.

Yesterday, a 3.2-magnitude earthquake was detected in Segamat, with tremors felt in Johor and southern Pahang. - FMT
