Lawsuit plans: MRSM chair tells parents of expelled bullies to 'bring it on'

Mara chairperson Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki has revealed that the parents of several Mara Science Junior College (MRSM) students expelled due to bullying are planning to sue him.

Unperturbed by the threat, he challenged them to go ahead with the plan.

"I want to tell this to them - bring it on!

“I am here to protect the safety of the majority of the students, not those who want to act like gangsters.

"#YouTouchYouGo," Asyraf said on Facebook, referring to his policy of zero tolerance against bullies and physical assault at any Mara institution.

The Umno secretary-general did not specify which parents were intending to take legal action, nor did he reveal which cases.

Among the most recent reported incidents are the bullying cases at MRSM Nibong Tebal, Penang, in April and MRSM Besut, Terengganu, in June.

A MRSM disciplinary committee had since recommended that all the students involved in the Penang case be expelled.

Asyraf's steadfast stance came in the midst of public uproar over the death of Form One student Zara Qairina Mahathir after she was found injured at her school in Papar, Sabah, and UTM undergraduate Syamsul Haris Shamsudin, who died during cadet training in Johor. - Mkini
