CAMERON HIGHLANDS: Two foreigners sustained minor injuries after a tree fell onto their moving car at Batu 28, Jalan Tapah-Ringlet, near here today.
The pair – a man and a woman in their 40s, both holders of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) cards – were travelling in a Perodua Alza when the incident occurred at around 5pm.
A spokesman for the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department said the Ringlet fire station was alerted at 5.09pm, and four firemen were promptly dispatched to the scene.
"On arrival, we found that a tree had fallen onto the Alza, which was heading towards Tapah. Neither the driver nor the passenger were trapped, and both had already exited the vehicle.
"Firefighters used a chainsaw to remove the branches from the car and shifted them to the roadside. The operation concluded at 6.40pm," he added. - NST
