KUALA LUMPUR: IJM Corporation Bhd non-executive chairman Tan Sri Krishnan Tan has issued a personal statement following media reports on investigations involving the company's top executive by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

"At this juncture, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further as investigations are ongoing," he added.

Meanwhile, IJM has assured stakeholders that its business operations remain unaffected by the ongoing investigation.

"The board wishes to assure all stakeholders that the company's business operations continue as usual," it said, adding that the board and management remain focused on business continuity and maintaining stakeholder confidence.

The company also confirmed that it is cooperating fully with the authorities, has responded promptly to all requests, and has made available all relevant information and personnel to facilitate the investigation.

"IJM has established adequate procedures and maintains robust governance frameworks, including the implementation of an Anti-Bribery Management System certified to ISO 37001:2025," the statement added.

The company said it would refrain from further comment while investigations are ongoing.

On Friday, the MACC detained a top management executive of IJM as part of an investigation into alleged corporate governance issues, procurement processes, financial transactions, and overseas asset ownership involving an estimated value of RM2.5 billion.

Sources said the suspect, a man in his 70s, was detained at 7pm on Wednesday at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya following a raid on his residence.

On Jan 19, the MACC Special Operations Division (BOK) launched an investigation into the suspect regarding financial transactions and the ownership of RM2.5 billion in assets abroad.

Following the move, MACC froze 70 private and company bank accounts linked to the case, containing approximately RM30.6 million. - NST
