State leader says the party also contested 15 seats in the 2021 election.

While PAS intends to contest 17 seats, Melaka Bersatu information chief Hishamuddin Abdul Karim said his party’s target of 15 is the same number of seats it contested in the 2021 state election.
Nonetheless, he said, this was merely a proposal and the final seat allocation will be determined by a PN committee comprising all four component parties.
“The Malaysian Indian People’s Party is expected to go for two seats, as proposed previously,” Hishamuddin told FMT.
In the 2021 state election, Bersatu contested 15 seats, followed by PAS with eight, and Gerakan five. PN won only two seats – Sungai Udang and Bemban – through Bersatu.
Hishamuddin said the PN component parties still shared good relations in Melaka, including Bersatu and PAS.
The PAS central committee is meeting tonight to decide on its relationship with Bersatu, after Bersatu was accused of straining ties between both parties. - FMT
