State DAP secretary Cha Kee Chin says the gathering was a regular meeting despite being called at short notice following the dissolution of the Johor state legislative assembly.

Negeri Sembilan DAP secretary Cha Kee Chin said the meeting chaired by Aminuddin was a routine gathering focused on election preparations and state governance.
The Rasah MP added that the gathering was not a “special” meeting despite being marked as “urgent” and called at short notice.
“It was a regular meeting, not a special meeting. It was called an urgent meeting because of the short notice, following the dissolution of the Johor state assembly yesterday afternoon.
“We discussed the preparedness of PH’s election machinery ahead of the next (Negeri Sembilan) state election. That is all,” he said in a Facebook post.
Earlier today, several vehicles belonging to PH assemblymen were seen entering the menteri besar’s residence, prompting speculation that the Negeri Sembilan assembly might be dissolved soon.
Aminuddin’s press secretary said no press conference has been scheduled, though the menteri besar is due to have an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir tomorrow as part of his weekly routine ahead of the state executive council meeting.
Tomorrow’s audience ‘very important’
Separately, Sri Tanjung assemblyman Dr G Rajasekaran said Aminuddin’s scheduled audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Besar tomorrow would be “very important” for several reasons.
This includes allowing the menteri besar to present key state agendas and to obtain “the consent, advice and wise views” of Tuanku Muhriz to ensure the prosperity of the state.
The PKR man said this will also ensure that policies and development plans are reported transparently to the ruler before being finalised at the state executive council meeting.
“May tomorrow’s session proceed smoothly and produce the best decision for the future of Negeri Sembilan,” he said. - FMT
