The Ampang Line will operate under a temporary arrangement from tomorrow, following major repair works after last week’s incident at Chan Sow Lin station.
Rapid KL said passengers will once again be able to travel directly between Putra Heights and Sentul Timur without needing to change trains.
However, those travelling between Ampang and Sentul Timur will still need to make a single transfer at Chan Sow Lin station, adding about five minutes to journey times during peak periods.
“Under this temporary operational mode, support staff will continue to be deployed at key stations to ensure passenger journeys remain smooth, especially with the anticipated increase in passenger volume after the long holiday,” it said in a statement today.
To support the temporary arrangement, 10 free feeder shuttle buses will operate along the Chan Sow Lin-Masjid Jamek-Bandaraya and Chan Sow Lin-Maluri-Pandan Jaya-Ampang routes.
Shuttle buses will run at intervals of 15 to 20 minutes, subject to traffic conditions.
Rapid KL said its engineering and technical teams have completed repair works, replaced components, and restored systems. Comprehensive inspections were also carried out on train assets and infrastructure to ensure safe and reliable operations.
The repairs included the removal and rerailing of the affected train, with all carriages sent to the depot for detailed inspection and assessment.
Rapid KL said additional inspections, technical verification, system fine-tuning, and specialised monitoring remain ongoing to ensure all operational and infrastructure requirements continue to meet safety standards.
Passengers are advised to follow Rapid KL’s official social media channels and the MyRapid Pulse application for the latest service updates.
