State chairman Mustapha Sakmud said the restructuring is aimed at tapping the experience of senior figures, especially Ruji Ubi who has served as a secretary-general in several ministries.

Sabah PH chairman Mustapha Sakmud said the restructuring was aimed at tapping the experience of senior figures, especially Ruji who served as secretary-general in several ministries, Bernama reported.
“We hope he can assist in the operational aspects of PH and, as we already know, we will be facing the GE,” he told reporters after the Sabah PH annual meeting.
Apart from the home ministry, Ruji also served as secretary-general at the national unity ministry and education ministry.
In the Sabah election last year, Ruji was named the coalition’s candidate for the Merotai seat, but lost to Warisan’s Sarifuddin Hata who secured the seat with a 4,016 majority.
Separately, Mustapha was retained as Sabah PH chairman, while Sabah DAP chief Phoong Jin Zhe and Sabah Amanah chief Lahirul Latigu remained as deputy chairmen. Sabah DAP deputy chief Chan Foong Hin was named Sabah PH information director, while Sabah Amanah assistant secretary Irwan Shah Mustapha was made the treasurer.
Jannie Lasimbang was retained as Sabah PH women’s chief, Zaidi Jatil remains as the coalition’s youth chief and Peto Galim retained as election director.
Mustapha said Sabah PH is currently in a phase of strengthening its machinery at all levels to ensure the coalition’s operations were more structured and effective.
He said Sabah PH also intends to defend the seats won by the coalition in the last general election, subject to the decision and negotiations of the party leadership. - FMT
