The suspect, believed to be in his 60s, will face a remand application tomorrow.

The suspect, believed to be in his 60s was arrested at about 4.30pm today while at MACC’s headquarters in Putrajaya to give a statement.
According to a post on the MACC’s TikTok account, the arrest was linked to an issue involving a hotel lease agreement in Saudi Arabia.
MACC chief commissioner Abd Halim Aman confirmed the arrest when contacted, saying the case is being investigated under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009.
The suspect is expected to be brought before the Putrajaya magistrates’ court tomorrow for a remand application.
The former minister is the latest person arrested by the anti-graft agency after the RCI report was released in late July.
Last week, a politician who was the former TH chairman and a former finance ministry official were arrested at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya. They will be released tomorrow after a seven-day remand.
A former TH CEO was also detained and remanded in connection with the same investigation.
The anti-graft agency had previously detained seven people, including a shipping company chief executive officer, two company directors, and four former members of TH’s senior management.
The RCI report revealed that a combination of excessive hibah commitments, questionable accounting practices, weak oversight, ambitious investment strategies and rising subsidy obligations placed significant financial pressure on TH between 2014 and 2020.
The commission found that TH had concealed the true state of its finances for years, reporting a RM3.4 billion profit in 2017 when it should have recorded a net loss of RM1.4 billion under the appropriate accounting standards – a discrepancy of nearly RM4.8 billion. - FMT
