Palm oil showcase gives out free samples in Parliament

As part of the government's ‘Love My Palm Oil’ campaign, a showcase was set up at the Parliament's lobby today to spread awareness on the benefits of palm oil.
At the entrance to the lawmakers' cafe, palm oil-based products were put on display along with some free samples.
Lawmakers and other visitors to Parliament could also sample a spoonful of red palm oil.
Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said during a ‘Love My Palm Oil’ campaign event that consuming a spoonful of palm oil a day was good for one’s health.
Aside from that, the showcase also provided samples of baked goods made with palm oil as well as cendol made with palm milk (santan kelapa sawit).
The exhibition area was crowded in the morning though this thinned out after lunch.
There was also a board set up asking for signed pledges to support the ‘Love My Palm Oil’ campaign.
Among those who signed it today were Port Dickson MP Anwar Ibrahim, Kubang Kerian MP Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and Pagoh MP Muhyiddin Yassin.
Each MP was also given a goodie bag which had a 400ml bottle of red palm oil and a bottle of palm oil-based tocotrienol vitamin E supplements.
The ‘Love My Palm Oil’ campaign was first announced on Jan 8 and will be a year-long event aimed at combating the negative perception against palm oil. - mkini
