RM90 MILLION SCANDAL HOT ON HIS HEELS, HADI RUSHES TO BOAST OF HIS MEETING WITH DAIM

PUTRAJAYA’S top adviser Daim Zainuddin met PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang in Terengganu yesterday.

Images of the meeting were released on Hadi’s social media platforms.

“We happily shared many stories together. May Tun always be in good health and in Allah’s blessings,” Hadi said in a tweet accompanied by pictures of the meeting.

The meeting between Daim, a close confidante of Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and Hadi comes weeks after PAS had said they would back the prime minister in the event of a vote of no confidence against him.

However, no such motion was tabled recently concluded Parliament session, with Pakatan Harapan leaders saying they were fully behind Dr Mahathir.

Following his visit to Terengganu, Daim was also reported as saying that six East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) stations will be built in the PAS-run state, quashing rumours that the state will be bypassed.

The Council of Eminent Persons chairman said Terengganu folk should not be upset or confused by the project’s new alignment and the reduction in its construction cost to RM44 billion from RM65.5 billion.

“The plan is there will be six stations in Terengganu. There will be passenger, cargo and passenger-cargo stations… I can’t remember the breakdown.

“ECRL will pass through Terengganu… it won’t go past it (to Mentakab in Pahang),” he had said.

Daim was in the state for a Darul Iman Talk, titled “Bumiputera Economy: National Agenda”.
