PETALING JAYA: A 22-year-old Indian national, having a drink with his Pakistani friend, was stabbed to death after the victim expressed interest in the suspect’s younger sister, according to police.
Port Dickson police chief Aidi Sham Mohamed said preliminary investigations found that the victim and the suspect, who were working in a factory here, were drinking alcoholic beverages in the suspect’s room on the upper floor of the house at about 12.30am when an argument broke out.
“The fight was believed to have occurred after the Indian national said that he had feelings for the suspect’s younger sister,” he said in a statement, according to Bernama.
“The fight resulted in the victim being stabbed with a 30cm knife in the kitchen and he was confirmed dead by a medical officer at 1.50am.”
Aidi Sham said a team rushed to the scene after being alerted about the incident at 2.30am and arrested the suspect.
A mobile phone and a knife, believed to have been used in the incident, were seized to help in the investigations.
The suspect did not have any prior criminal record. - FMT
