PETALING JAYA: The flooded and landslip-hit portions of the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK) have been reopened to traffic.
The concessionaire for both the highway and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1) said cleaning and repair works had been completed. LPT1 had been fully reopened to traffic about two weeks ago.
In a statement, Anih Berhad said motorists heading for Karak were now allowed to pass through the toll plaza instead of having to make a U-turn at the toll plaza previously.
It advised motorists to note the contra-flow lanes from Sungai Dua at Km74.8 to Km77.3.When the floods struck on Dec 18, about 450 motorists were left stranded at KLK because of landslides and rising floodwaters, leaving the Karak-Temerloh stretch closed to traffic. - FMT
