Covid-19 (Sep 2): 2,328 new cases, 70pct less than two weeks ago

 


COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 2,328 new daily Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,787,308.

The number of new cases is 70 percent lower compared to two weeks ago.

Active cases currently stood at 31,164, down 23.8 percent compared to 14 days ago.

New cases according to states are as follows:

Selangor (715)
Kuala Lumpur (415)
Sabah (205)
Perak (175)
Sarawak (140)
Negeri Sembilan (125)
Malacca (109)
Kedah (87)
Kelantan (76)
Penang (75)
Johor (66)
Pahang (55)
Putrajaya (36)
Terengganu (34)
Perlis (9)
Labuan (6)

Another nine deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which three were declared as "brought in dead".

The fatalities were reported in Malacca (3), Johor (1), Negeri Sembilan (1), Penang (1), Sabah (1), Sarawak (1), and Selangor (1)

Over the past week, an average of 6.1 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 8.0, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,234 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.

There are 1,305 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 79 are in intensive care.

The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Sabah (89) followed by Selangor (87) and Johor (56). - Mkini
