COVID-19 | The Health Ministry reported 1,942 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Active infections stood at 25,693, down 17.1 percent compared to 14 days ago.
New cases according to states are as follows:

Another six deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday in Selangor (2), Malacca (1), Perak (1), Sabah (1) and Sarawak (1).
Over the past week, an average of 5.1 people were reported to have died of the disease, while the average for the past 30 days was 6.9, indicating that such deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 36,291 deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus.
There have been 75 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 247 deaths last month and 204 in July.
Some 1,189 Covid-19 patients are hospitalised, down 25 percent compared to a month ago.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (92) followed by Sabah (82) and Johor (40). - Mkini
