PETALING JAYA: The body of a man, believed to have drowned, was recovered from a river in Kuala Selangor three days after police had conducted an anti-drug operation in the area.
The body was found floating 500m from the Bagan Muara Esbee Jetty, near the Sungai Buloh Sasaran Bridge, in Jeram, Kuala Selangor, this morning, Bernama reported.
Kuala Selangor police chief Ramli Kasa said a member of the public found the body at 8am and it was later taken to the Tanjung Karang Hospital for a post-mortem.
“Investigations are ongoing and the case has been classified as sudden death,” he said in a statement.
Ramli said the case was believed to be related to the “Ops Tapis” operation conducted at 6.30pm on Friday at a jetty near the area.
When the police approached the jetty, a group of men jumped into the river and swam to the other side. - FMT
