Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's political secretary said he has been appointed by Anwar as the parliamentary coordinator for Ampang, to ensure the delivery of welfare aid and assistance to residents is carried out in a more organised, efficient and effective manner.
In a Facebook statement, Azman Abidin said he would coordinate efforts with the Prime Minister's Department's Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) and relevant government agencies to ensure government initiatives reach the people more effectively.
Azman (above) said the delivery of assistance would also be coordinated closely with the state assemblypersons representing Ampang, community leaders and other relevant parties to ensure residents' welfare continues to receive due attention.
The statement comes after Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail alleged that her office's access to the MyKhas constituency allocation system had been abruptly suspended, making her the third PKR lawmaker to face such a restriction after Subang MP Wong Chen and Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung.
Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail said the police are prepared to provide their full commitment and cooperation in implementing the cabinet’s decision to enhance national aviation security controls, including the involvement of police personnel in the aviation security (Avsec) team.
He said the police, together with the Home Ministry, Transport Ministry and relevant agencies, were working out the implementation mechanism, including the scope of duties, deployment locations, manpower requirements, areas of responsibility and operational coordination.

Khalid Ismail Khalid said involving police in the aviation security ecosystem would strengthen risk-sharing capabilities, early detection efforts, enforcement coordination and rapid response to any threats or criminal activities seeking to exploit aviation facilities and procedures.
He added that stricter, integrated and risk-based security measures would form part of a more comprehensive layered system involving access control, screening procedures, security inspections, risk assessments and strategic cooperation between agencies. - Mkini
