MB: 28pct of half million new voters in S'gor unidentifiable

Of the nearly 500,000 new voters in Selangor since 2008, 28 percent cannot be identified said Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

“We wrote a letter to the Election Commission (EC) offering help to clean the electoral roll, but we were told that it is not the Selangor government's duty to do so,” he said on hisFacebook.

The MB was presenting a speech at the International Conference on Malaysia's 13th General Elections at Lake Club, Kuala Lumpur this morning.

To date the EC and federal minister and Selangor Umno deputy chief Noh Omar have been resistant to the state's efforts to verify its electoral roll.
