The headmaster of the school should apologise in person and everyone should move on as the issue has dragged on for far too long, said Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.
He said headmaster Mohamad Nasir Mohd Nor should take the queue from Sekolah Menengah Alam Megah headmistress Yati Dani who made a public and personal apology to her pupils for making racial remarks.
Yati made a tearful apology at the school assembly for telling her students to “balik China dan India”.
“We have to solve such issues quickly in the process of nation building,” he said during a press conference at his Hari Raya open house in Shah Alam today.
"The headmaster (Mohamad Nasir) should just apologise and sit with the children and eat together.”
The Malaysian Insider yesterday reported that the whistleblower parent who exposed how non-Muslim pupils at the SK Seri Pristana had been made to have their recess in a shower room had removed her daughter from the school.
Guneswari Kelly said she was putting her daughter in a vernacular school in Subang after her child was allegedly shamed during school assemblies and subjected to constant racial slurs by teachers and schoolmates.
This was allegedly over Guneswari’s role in uploading photographs of the pupils in the shower room to Facebook which caused a public outcry.
“This is not the best solution. The mother should not have isolated the girl. We cannot have this matter continuously haunting us,” said Khalid.
Earlier, Selangor Umno liaison committee chief Datuk Seri Noh Omar had joined in the fray by urging the authorities to investigate Guneswari under the Sedition Act.
