Sabah DAP adviser quits after partymen ignore him, want disciplinary action against him

A DAP Sabah state adviser has resigned from his position after some in the party wanted disciplinary action taken against him over his decision not to support the new state opposition leader.

Luyang assemblyman Dr Hiew King Cheu (pic) submitted his letter of resignation to the party’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

Four Sabah DAP assemblymen wanted disciplinary action against Dr Hiew as he did not support the appointment of Datuk Wilfred Bumburing as the opposition head in the Sabah state assembly.

PKR’s Datuk Lajim Ukin was eventually elected as the state opposition head.

“I am very disappointed and disheartened and feel that I am no longer needed as the state adviser,” Dr Hiew said in a statement today.

“Important matters were no longer brought to my attention and discussed by members before a decision is made. It would be the best solution and fair to everyone that I relinquish my post.”
