Dyana ATTACKED by BN 'thugs' on motor-bikes

The DAP candidate for the Teluk Intan by-election, Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud, was  harassed by Barisan Nasional (BN) thugs while campaigning today at Kampung Padang Tembak.

Bukit Bendera MP Zairil Khir Johari said eight thugs directed their motorcycle exhaust at a DAP campaign team meeting voters in the area.

"It was an act of provocation. The thugs were wearing clothes and caps with the BN logo. There was a lot of smoke from their bikes."

Zairil said it was clear that the thugs wanted to disrupt the campaign.

"However, businessmen and customers advised us to ignore their antics."

Yesterday, Dyana was also provoked by a youth on a motorcycle, who sounded his horn non-stop and questioned why she was representing DAP.

However, Dyana was undeterred and went about meeting voters.

Zairil was present today with Kuala Terengganu MP Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah and several other Pakatan Rakyat leaders.

"Despite all the provocation we are facing, Dyana and her campaign team have successfully completed their mission to meet the public in Teluk Intan."

"PR leaders and representatives are here to support Dyana and to ensure her safety from such thugs.

"We have been shouted at and told in no uncertain terms that this is a Malay village," Zairil said.

"It is a lucky thing nothing happened. Police were late on the scene and the thugs made so much disturbance until they ran out of fuel," he told The Malaysian Insider.
