The police are investigating the statement of Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) president Abdullah Zaik Abdullah Rahman under the Sedition Act.
In a text message to Malaysiakini, Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed that investigations would be carried out.
Khalid also cautioned all quarters against making inflammatory remarks.
"My advice to all is to be careful in making statements that could stir racial tension in the country," he said.
Isma's latest salvo against the Chinese community has drawn flak from various quarters, with both MCA Youth and DAP lodging police reports.
A vexed MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon said, "We are fed up with such statements."
MIC strategy director S Vell Paari has also asked the authorities to investigate Isma to avoid giving the impression that it had the tacit backing of the powers-that-be.
Vell Paari also raised alarm over Abdullah Zaik's call to the Malays to "correct the historical mistake" with regard to the Chinese, asking if Abdullah Zaik was pushing for racial bloodletting.
Meanwhile, Khalid dismissed the accusation that the police tend to turn a blind eye towards certain groups due to their political affiliations.
"We will not compromise on anyone who threatens national security, regardless of political links," he said.
Yesterday, Abdullah Zaik (right)criticised the Chinese, calling them "intruders", in response to the community's opposition towards the implementation of hudud law.
He said the ancestors of Chinese Malaysians were "in cahoots with the British to oppress the Malays."
However, Abdullah Zaik told Malaysiakini he has yet to be contacted by police and that he is unsure if any other Isma office-bearers would also be investigated as well.
