Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar has warned MyWatch chairperson R Sri Sanjeevan against holding the police at ransom.
The crime watchdog chief had threatened to expose police officers in Johor who allegedly amassed large sums of money if the probe into his shooting case is not wrapped up soon.
However, Khalid said if Sanjeevan had tangible proof about corrupt police officers, he should reveal it so that action can be taken in accordance with the law.
"It is his moral obligation to report such matters and to do it unconditionally," he added in a statement.
As for the investigation into Sanjeevan's case, Khalid said the MyWatch chief should not compare the speed in which police investigates his case with other cases.
"He has to admit that each case is unique on its own," he added.
Sanjeevan was shot by two men on a motorcycle in Negri Sembilan on July 27, last year.
Despite being almost one year, the MyWatch chief said yesterday that he still does not know the name of the investigating officer handling his case.
