From: Another Angry Malaysian
In recent days, many have openly criticised the government through various channels regarding their attempts to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Close to 5,000 people have died due to the virus and many more have been financially and emotionally hit due to the various levels of lockdowns imposed by the establishment.
But let us be honest and ask ourselves whether the government really deserves all the dung-laced bouquets it is currently receiving?
It’s a resounding yes. Daily updates from the health ministry have shown that the majority of clusters were originating from the workplace, yet factories and big companies are still allowed to operate.
On the other hand, small traders, businesses, flower shop owners and saloons have been asked to shut down during the never-ending lockdowns.
This government needs to remind itself of the difference between big companies and small-time businesses.
Big companies are working to earn a profit, which essentially means they are capable of running on reduced profits for a longer time compared with these small-scale businesses.
As a government, higher priority needs to be placed on the latter as they are at the risk of being financially killed by the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the steps taken by the government to contain it.
Instead, the establishment has “brilliantly” decided that it would rather serve the rich people and bend backwards to appease them and their bank accounts while those in the B40 and M40 groups are left to fend for themselves.
This government deserves each and every single outburst of anger, insult and brickbat hurled at it by the common, struggling Malaysians.
Oh God, let those in charge experience what Malaysians from the lowest strata of society are currently facing under this lockdown. - FMT
