PETALING JAYA: Several areas of the Orang Asli villages in Batang Padang, Perak will go under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Aug 11 until Aug 24.
In a statement this evening, senior minister for security Hishammuddin Hussein said that 18 localities in Batang Padang, Perak will go under the EMCO – Kg OA Batu 6, Kg OA Batu 14, Kg OA Batu 16, Kg OA Batu 17, Kg OA Batu 18, Kg OA Batu 19, Kg Kenderong, Kg Sg Rensa, Kg Sg Chendon, Kg Sg Odak, Kg Ampangan, Kg Pos Woh, Kg OA Batu 7 & Batu 7 1⁄2, Kg Sg Bot Dalam, Kg Sg Bot Luar, Kg Sg Tidong, Kg Lubuk Gaharu and Kg Woh Intake.
Other areas include: Kg OA Sg. Lah (Chendering subdistrict); Kg Senta, Kg Chang and Kg Sanding (Bidor subdistrict); and Kg OA Menderang (Sungkai subdistrict).
Meanwhile, also in Perak, Taman Meru 2B in Kinta will go under EMCO until Aug 24, as well as Taman Sri Bayu in Tumpat, Kelantan.
Five localities in Sabah will also be under EMCO from Aug 11-24. These are the Taman Sri Baling and Taman Sri Titingan People’s Housing Projects in Tawau; Kem 2 Tolokoson, Tenom; Kampung Kota Tuaran, Tuaran; and Kampung Sarikan, Nabawan.
The EMCO at Sg Klau and Sg Chalit, Raub, Pahang, will extend until Aug 17, while the enhanced restrictions at Taman Kinarut Ria, Papar, Sabah and the IBN Highland construction site in Genting Highlands, Bentong, Pahang, will be extended until Aug 24.
Hishammuddin said the EMCO at 14 localities in Sabah will end tomorrow. They are Kampung Menengah, Kampung Buang Sayang and Kampung Pasir Putih Sipitang in Sipitang; Kampung Kauran, Kampung Patikang Ulu, Focus Lumber factory and workers quarters, Veracity factory and workers quarters, Hasil Jadi factory and workers quarters, the IDA driving centre and the Indonesian settlement in Keningau; the Pontian Kuril plantation housing, Kinabatangan; Kampung Mostyn Lama, Kunak; Kampung Tawadakan, Kota Belud; and Kampung Madsiang, Penampang.
Meanwhile, also in Sabah, the EMCO at Kampung Mananam, Tongod, will end on Aug 9.
The EMCO at Kampung Telaga Tujoh, Labok, Machang, Kelantan, Felda Maokil, Muar, Johor, and Kampung Pagar Batu 6, Penjom, Lipis, Pahang, will end on Aug 10.
On enforcement, Hishammuddin said the SOP compliance task force ordered 38 premises comprising businesses, factories and construction sites to close yesterday after failing to comply with SOPs.
He also said 306 people were arrested yesterday over MCO-related offences, 281 of whom were issued compound notices and 25 remanded. - FMT
