PETALING JAYA: Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) agents will face action from the tourism, arts and culture ministry if they are found circulating
about the MM2H programme.false rumours and misleading updates
In a Facebook post today, tourism, arts and culture minister Tiong King Sing said his ministry was aware of the circulation of claims that MM2H is not yet operational and cannot accept applications.
He said his ministry had launched an investigation to identify the agents behind this misinformation, following multiple complaints.
he said.Once identified, we will take strict action, including blacklisting these agents, their directors and shareholders to prevent future misconduct,
He said the ministry did not want such irresponsible actions to negatively affect the MM2H programme or cause further harm.
These irresponsible agents are hindering efforts to promote MM2H internationally.
Tiong said the MM2H programme has already been relaunched and is open to eligible participants through other channels.
However, the online application system is still undergoing testing to ensure it functions smoothly.
Tiong said opening the online application system prematurely without fully ensuring its reliability could lead to failures that would undermine the government’s systems and erode applicants’ confidence.
He also urged potential applicants to seek information directly from official sources and avoid being misled by unofficial reports.
