Seri Serdang assemblyperson Abbas Salimi Che Adzmi@Azmi has been called into the Dang Wangi district police headquarters to record a statement regarding a Palestine rally on Friday.
Abbas (above, centre) arrived at the station at about 11am and it is understood that the Amanah leader was the second individual to be summoned in connection with the gathering to commemorate a year of Israeli atrocities in Gaza.
On Oct 11, hundreds of attendees gathered outside the Tabung Haji headquarters in Kuala Lumpur after Friday prayers before peacefully marching towards the US Embassy.
Police had recorded Pejuang president Mukhriz Mahathir’s statement after the rally ended on that day.
Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, Islamic Consultative Council of Malaysia president Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid, and several other political figures and NGOs also attended Friday's gathering.
They marched from the Tabung Haji headquarters to the US Embassy in Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur to hand in a memorandum of protest.
However, the move to submit the memorandum was not achieved when it was blocked by the authorities. - Mkini
