Siti Kasim wants Malays to think for themselves, stop asking their ‘ustaz’ “how to pee, enjoy couples’ intimate moment”

HUMAN rights activist Siti Kasim has challenged her Malay brethren to use their God given brain faculty to think what is best and right for them than to always refer “even the most commonsense” matters to so-called religious experts who are themselves “far from perfect”.

The 61-year-old legal eagle expressed fear that a bleak future awaits her own race if they continue to solicit views of religious experts who might end up misleading them into their own doom instead of showing them the path to righteousness.

She was commenting on the opinion by Penang Mufti Associate Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Sukki Othman that a husband has the right to prevent his wife from participating in a “mixed gender” team-building programme to avoid slander and khalwat (close proximity).

“As such, I want to ask what constitutes a woman? An animal, a thing, a property or aren’t them a human?” berated Siti Kasim in a recent TikTok video.

“Can’t woman decide what’s best for themselves? Why must it always be the case that men must dictate to the women folks you can do this or you cannot do that? I’m sorry to say that this is un-Islamic to me because women aren’t a property or slave to men.”

Delving further, Siti Kasim regretted that “this is not the first time that stupid questions are posed to so-called religious experts”.

“There have been times when questions of how to pee, pass motion or what spouses must do during their intimate moments are posed as if they (the Malays) don’t have brain to think,” berated the Orang Asli advocate.

“Can’t you use your God given brain to think than to ask those religious experts … you think these people can give you perfect answers? I’m very surprised with the Malays who want to rigidly adhere to what the religious experts dictate.”

On this note, Siti Kasim highlighted the dire consequences should the Mufti Bill (Federal Territories) 2024 be passed and “a clever Mufti decided to issue a fatwa that husbands have the rights to bar their wives from participating in any event where men and women can mingle around or even the husband has the right to bar their wives from working”.

“This fatwa will eventually become a law and it will be too late to reverse the decision … therefore, the need to think carefully before vesting authority on religious experts to legalise what is merely a living guide … allowing the Bill to be pushed through can be a very dangerous move.

“As it is, the telling signs are already there with women already been restricted from taking part in sporting activities or prevented from participating in beauty pageants for we’re the easiest to be oppressed.”

For the sake of their own future, Siti Kasim has this to tell her Malay brethren:

Seriously, I’m flabbergasted and totally despair for the future of Malaysia for if this is the way we move forward, we’re going to be ruined.

Your live will be like a doll if you continue to incessantly solicit the views of religious experts. Remember that these people are imperfect themselves, hence the need to be very careful of what to expect from them.

“The truth is life is so simple so long as we know how to differentiate the right from the wrong and doing what’s the best for us. There’s no need to over-zealously seek opinions of others on what’s best for us. Good luck if you over-rely on the religious experts.”  – Focus Malaysia
