My Suggestion To The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Taoism

 With 40 Parliamentary seats DAP is the biggest, most influential and most powerful partner in the gomen. Without the DAP's approval ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can happen with this gomen

A multi-religious group has warned that the proposed Federal Territories Mufti Bill could make fatwas legally binding and potentially infringe on non-Muslim rights.

“We are deeply concerned that the FT Mufti Bill, if passed, could lead to fatwas being enforced as laws, without any recourse for non-Muslims,” said the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Taoism (MCCBCHST).

 

My Comments :

 

Lets put it this way. In 2013 there was great excitement because everyone thought the Barisan Nasional / UMNO could at last be defeated. It did not happen. But come 2018 the opportunity presented itself again.  

 

So the people voted and in 2018 the BN / UMNO was kicked out. After 63 years, it was a huge relief for the majority of Malaysians. The tyrants had been overthrown. Then horror of horrors, nothing changed. The DAP was in power, the PKR was in power yet nothing changed. The same horror story continued.

 

Then the government changed and kept changing - THREE TIMES. By the third time (Ismail Sabri) the BN / UMNO boys were back in power.

 

Then the elections came around again in November 2022. This time no one won the elections. They all LOST. Semua kalah. No single party could form the gomen. Then the horse trading started and a weird coalition was cobbled together. A very weak coalition.

 

This time again the DAP is part of the gomen. With 40 Parliamentary seats DAP is the biggest, most influential and most powerful partner in the gomen. Without the DAP's approval ABSOLUTELY NOTHING can happen with this gomen.

 

Then horror of horrors, again nothing changed. 

Horror of horrors the Mufti Bill is also back. 

Horror of horrors this Mufti Bill was first promoted by the Perikatan fellows.

 

My suggestion to the MCCBCHST is to focus all your attention on the 40 DAP MPs. 

Get those 40 DAP MPs on your side

Your problems are solved. 

This is what democracy is all about.

 

Say what you want, make as many Press Statements as you want. 

But if those 40 DAP MPs vote in favour of this Mufti Bill, then:

"all your preaching has been in vain" (1st Corinthians 15:14).

 

Get those 40 DAP MPs to vote against this Mufti Bill.

With 40 seats in Parliament the DAP is the single largest party in the gomen.

Start calling your DAP MPs now.

Start talking to your DAP friends now.

Make democracy work for you.

 

What is the point of complaining about the UMNO, Pas, Bersatu, Amanah and PKR fellows? They will not help you much. They will vote for the Mufti Bill.

Focus on the 40 DAP MPs.

You voted for them remember?

You put them in power.

You did an excellent job.

They are YOUR Members of Parliament.

Now call them and tell them that you voted for them.

It is time they delivered.
