PETALING JAYA: Police have recorded the statements of three people to aid an investigation sparked by a video clip showing several people in official-looking attire resembling military ceremonial uniforms at an event held by an organisation.
Sungai Buloh police chief Hafiz Nor said the investigation paper is expected to be referred to the deputy public prosecutor’s office next Friday, Bernama reported.
He said the police were also reviewing the matter with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and the Registrar of Societies for further investigation.
Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the investigation began after a video was circulated on TikTok at about 2.30pm yesterday. He said the actions of those involved could create public confusion.
Under the Penal Code, it is an offence for anyone not a member of the armed forces to wear attire or carry any token resembling that of someone in military service. - FMT
