Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic today announced his intention to sue AirAsia for using his artwork without consent.
Zacharevic (above) said he had tried to resolve the issue amicably but the budget airline merely responded by issuing statements, denying infringement and prolonging discussions.
"Over the past years, my murals have appeared in AirAsia's email campaigns, advertisements, in-flight magazines, and more - all without proper credit, consent or compensation.
"This repeated behaviour sets a harmful precedent: that artists' work can be exploited without consequence.
"It's not just about me - it affects the entire artistic community," he said on Instagram.

In his post, he attached images of AirAsia promotional posters and pictures featuring the mural Zacharevic painted in Georgetown, Penang featuring a young boy and girl on a bicycle.
He also shared a picture and video of an AirAsia aircraft with the mural depicted on it.

Zacharevic last spoke about this on Nov 25, when he urged AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes to provide an explanation over the matter.
