'No PAS flags': Fadhli vows respect for anti-graft rally

PAS has assured that the Islamic party will not “exploit” the anti-graft rally taking place in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow and that no party flags will be flown.

In a Facebook post, PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari sought to reassure the organisers saying: “’Adik-adik’ (brothers and sisters), do not worry. We will not ‘tumpang’ (exploit) this rally… feel free to assemble.

“PAS Youth is merely expressing support for your right to assemble as citizens of Malaysia.

“Therefore, there should be no obstacles to your rally for any reason.”

The Pasir Mas MP added that PAS has no objections to its members participating in the rally, “just as PAS has no objection to its members going to the night market (pasar malam) or the mosque in their individual capacity.”

“I guarantee that no PAS flags will be flown at tomorrow’s rally. If there are any, please record the individuals involved for investigation and action,” he added.

Fadhli was responding to the anti-graft rally secretariat’s warning for PAS and Bersatu’s Youth wings to “leave their pretentious politics out of the rally or risk being kicked out”.

Yesterday, the Perikatan Nasional parties confirmed their participation in the “Himpunan Rakyat Benci Rasuah”.

In response, activist Fahmi Reza mocked PAS Youth for wanting to participate in the protest. - Mkini
