After invoking their authority to “sack” Negeri Sembilan ruler Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, the state's territorial chieftains are now going after Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun.
In a letter yesterday, the Undang Yang Empat - together with another state chieftain, the Tunku Besar Tampin - called for the members of the Negeri Sembilan state assembly to remove Aminuddin from office.
"We hereby proclaim that Aminuddin is unfit to lead the state administration and thus he should rightfully be removed from the office," they said.
Malaysiakini has reached out to Aminuddin (above) and Negeri Sembilan state assembly speaker MK Ibrahim Abd Rahman for comments.
In their letter, the chieftains also alleged that Aminuddin lied when he spoke about a decision to sack Mubarak Thahak as the undang of Sungai Ujong.

This is in reference to the menteri besar's remarks on April 17, saying that the Negeri Sembilan Council of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar and the Ruling Chiefs (Dewan Keadilan dan Undang) had on that day confirmed Mubarak's dismissal as undang.
"We are confident that the statement made by the menteri besar was not relevant and a lie.
"Members of the council present that day did not reach any decision collectively and unanimously during the sitting," the leaders claimed.
The four undangs and the tunku besar of Tampin are among the members of the Council of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar and the Ruling Chiefs.

‘Proclamations invalid’
Previous reports said nobles in Sungai Ujong had moved to remove Mubarak as undang in May last year over 33 alleged offences, including purported breaches of Islamic law and customs.
Mubarak's supporters have disputed this.
Mubarak's sacking by the high council led to him and the three other undangs to invoke their constitutional powers on April 19 to sack Tuanku Muhriz and replace him with Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar.

This is after they allegedly launched their own investigation into Tuanku Muhriz on March 5 for alleged transgressions in his royal duties. They deemed the unspecified transgressions to have been committed deliberately, thus besmirching the royal institution.
However, Aminuddin, in his statement yesterday, disputed this, saying the proclamations were invalid as Mubarak had been sacked earlier.
The Negeri Sembilan state constitution, however, states that a decision can be made by at least three undangs, or by however many are alive at the time of the decision. - Mkini
