Mud flood hits TTDI again after heavy rain

KUALA LUMPUR: A mud flood struck Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) following heavy rain earlier this evening, just a day after a stop-work order was issued on the Bukit Kiara Federal Park administrative zone office project.

Taman Tun Dr Ismail Fire and Rescue Station said it received an emergency call at 4.28pm and deployed a Scania fire engine to the affected area.

"No victims were reported and the operation was concluded at 5.27pm," it said.

A video circulating on Facebook, published by Malaysian Daily Flood at 5.58pm, showed mud water pooling near a construction site.

Yesterday, a stop-work order was issued with immediate effect on the Bukit Kiara Federal Park administrative zone office project following a mud flood at Jalan Haji Openg, TTDI, on Sunday.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh said Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has also issued a compound to the contractor, while cleaning operations were carried out jointly with the Fire and Rescue Department and the contractor's team.

Yeoh, who visited the site with Mayor Datuk Seri Fadlun Mak Ujud, said DBKL has taken immediate action in light of the emergency and the potential risks posed to the safety of nearby residents. - NST
