Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin, who used to sit next to the opposition leader, has been moved eight spots down the front row.

According to the latest seating arrangements posted on Parliament’s website, Hamzah will be seated where the opposition leader conventionally sits, following PAS’s announcement that he will be reinstated as opposition leader.
The former Bersatu deputy president will sit next to Perikatan Nasional chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, who will have PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang on his left.
Next to Hadi will be his deputy, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, who will also sit next to Bersatu vice-president Ronald Kiandee, whom his party has suspended.
Muhyiddin, whose party remains a PN component, sat next to Hamzah when the Dewan Rakyat last convened. Hamzah had remained opposition leader despite being sacked from Bersatu.
In the upcoming parliamentary meeting, which starts on Monday, Muhyiddin has been moved eight spots down from where he used to sit.
Seated next to him is Bersatu vice-president Radzi Jidin, a close ally of Muhyiddin.
PAS ended its political cooperation with Bersatu earlier this month, though both parties remain components of the PN coalition.
Hadi later announced that Hamzah would return as opposition leader, with the backing of the majority of opposition MPs, while Samsuri would remain PN chairman.
Samsuri was appointed opposition leader last month but never managed to carry out his parliamentary duties as the Dewan Rakyat was not in session at the time.
Yesterday, PAS and PN secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan wrote in to notify the Dewan Rakyat speaker that 61 of the 68 opposition MPs have agreed to make Hamzah the new opposition leader. - FMT
