Who said the bus curtain cannot be turned into a napkin?

MALAYSIA IS a nation of innovators. We put curry in coffee, convert empty Milo tins into treasure chests and somehow, turn the foul smelling durian into an even more foul smelling paste through fermentation and name it Budu.

It was perhaps only a matter of time before someone discovered the untapped potential of a bus curtain.

A video circulating on social media has left netizens both amused and horrified after showing a man casually wiping his hands on a bus curtain after eating Briyani rice.

Just when viewers thought the performance was over, the uncle proceeded to wipe his mouth on the same curtain, elevating the fabric from mere window accessory to full-fledged dining utility.

At that moment, somewhere in the world, a tissue manufacturer probably felt a disturbance in the force.

The clip quickly attracted widespread attention online, and as expected, Malaysians did not hold back.

One user, @daudsu86, questioned why the person recording did not confront the man directly.

Another netizen felt the matter should have been escalated to the driver so the dirty uncle could be left by the roadside.

Meanwhile, @Eifqrea felt that this is the type of people who used their own tie to wipe their mouths during their schooling years.

In what can only be described as a highly specific curse, @adamyazidxd wished the uncle an extended gastrointestinal experience.

Not to be outdone, @mdscid offered a rather imaginative form of karmic justice.

“I hope he wipes his mouth on the curtain that has residues of scabies,” he said.

Perhaps the most comforting comment came from @A_hafzam, who attempted to reassure everyone that the curtain itself may not have been particularly hygienic to begin with.

The incident has since reignited discussions about public etiquette, personal hygiene and whether some Malaysians treat public property as an extension of their own living room.

As for future passengers seated beside that particular curtain, they may never look at bus furnishings the same way again.

Because once a curtain becomes a napkin, it can never truly go back to being just a curtain. — Focus Malaysia
