Pas won't sacrifice principles just to win, reach Putrajaya – Tuan Ibrahim

KOTA BARU: Pas is attracting interest from various quarters, with several new parties keen to join forces and work with it, says its deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

He said Pas welcomed any party that wanted to work with it but would not sacrifice its principles for electoral victory.

"If all we wanted was to win and reach Putrajaya, it would not be difficult. We could simply join any party, regardless of whether it is right or wrong.

"But that is not our approach. We adhere to the principles set by Allah, including in political cooperation and alliances," he said.

Tuan Ibrahim was speaking at the Pas 75th anniversary grand ceramah here today, attended by party president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.

He said Pas was preparing to take over the administration of the Federal Government, but added that party strength alone was insufficient.

"We must also examine our personal conduct and practices. Do not let our own actions become an obstacle to the victory of Islam.

"Leaders at all levels, in particular, must constantly reflect on their conduct," he said. - FMT
