The Problem Is Indian Muslims, Not Malays

This may be the reason why in the Malay heartland states such as Terengganu and Kelantan (which incidentally are governed by the so-called “Taliban” PAS) you do not find any Muslim-Hindu conflicts like you do in the “liberal” Pakatan Harapan states where there are more Indian Muslims and Hindus. And is it not in Sri Lanka and not Kota Bharu where churches and Christians are being attacked?

NO HOLDS BARRED
Raja Petra Kamarudin
(The Star) – A freelance Muslim preacher held for insulting Hinduism has been brought to Dang Wangi for further investigations.
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the suspect was transferred there, while investigations were on-going.
Mohammad Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu, 34, was picked up by the Perlis Serious Crime Division in Kangar on Sunday (April 28), after several reports were lodged against him.
He is being investigated under Section 298A of the Penal Code for causing disunity and spurring hatred among the people and Section 233 of the Multimedia and Communications Act for misusing network facilities and services.
The footage of the talk was subsequently uploaded on YouTube by an organisation known as the Kelantan Sunnah Info.
“A total of 867 police reports have been lodged as of today (Monday) morning. The number of reports may go up further,” he told reporters after launching the new Brickfields police headquarters on Monday (April 29).
He said police were in the midst compiling investigation papers and Bukit Aman was in charge of the probe.

Pusat Islam said this is an Indian problem “imported from India”

From time to time, Malaysia has seen conflicts between Muslims and Hindus. Bukit Mertajam, Batang Kali and Penang are probably the more “memorable” incidences. Then we have had controversial preachers such as Mohammad Zamri Vinoth (read above) and Zakir Naik hitting the news.
I remember speaking to the Director-General of Pusat Islam back in the 1990s about this matter. The problem, I told him, seems to occur in only the so-called “liberal” states whereas in “Muslim” states such as Terengganu and Kelantan religious clashes are unheard of.
Kelantan has the biggest Buddhist temple in Malaysia and as soon as PAS took over the state, Menteri Besar Nik Aziz Nik Mat called the Hindus for a meeting and asked then whether they wanted to build a Hindu temple.

Nik Aziz gave the Hindus a temple even though they dared not ask for one

The reason Nik Aziz did this was because he noticed that eons ago, before the state fell to PAS, the Hindus had applied for permission to build a temple but it had never been approved. Of course, the Hindus said yes and Nik Aziz approved the Hindu temple straight away.
In fact, N. Gobalakrishnan was very close to Nik Aziz and whenever he visited Kota Bharu Nik Aziz would ask him to sit next to him. Gobala can tell you more about his relationship with Nik Aziz.
Anyway, I brought his matter up with Pusat Islam because at that time there was quite a serious conflict between Hindus and Muslims in Penang and Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was forced to step in and if not carefully handled it would have turned into bloodshed (until today some Penang Hindus are still pissed with Anwar regarding his comment on the temple bell).
The DG told me that this is actually an Indian problem: Indian Muslims and Indian Hindus. And this problem, said the DG, was “imported from India”. Most times, the Malays are not involved, the DG explained. But then, when trouble starts, invariably the Malays get dragged in since it involves Islam, or Muslims versus Hindus.

The conflicts between Hindus and Muslims is an Indian problem since way back

The best thing, the DG said, was for the government to ban Indian Hindu priests and Indian Muslim preachers from coming into Malaysia because these Hindus and Muslims from India are the source of the problem. And there are many Hindu priests and Muslim preachers from India all over Malaysia, said the DG.
